Your website’s CMS, or content management system, is a software that makes it easier for you to upload media, reorganize the layout, modify existing content, and more. Without a CMS, it would be difficult to make any changes to your website without the advanced coding knowledge of a web developer. Modern CMSs have paved the way for all individuals to easily modify their websites without extensive technical knowledge.

There are dozens of CMSs out there, but we at myheartcreative use WordPress. This system is one of the most popular CMSs in the world – and for good reason. WordPress is an especially robust system, and it offers a lot in terms of functionality and visual appeal. We find it to be the most user-friendly option with many capabilities, which is why we only build websites on WordPress. Our own website is built on WordPress, a testament to how much we trust it as a CMS!

Before exploring what your CMS is capable of and making significant changes to your website, we recommend being trained by an expert and reviewing various resources. This is where we come in to help.

When we design and maintain your website, we aim to start a collaborative partnership with you. As part of this working relationship, we supply you with the tools you need to help your web design be successful. One such tool is knowing how to make adjustments to your own website. (Of course, our team of professionals is always ready to assist you when necessary!)

After your website is launched, we will provide:

  • An initial website training session – We want you to know how to use your website. Once your website has launched, we will be in touch to schedule an initial website training session. You will meet with a member of our team one-on-one to learn how to make basic edits to your website and ask questions.
  • A follow-up training session – After the initial training, a member of our team will follow up with you to schedule a second website training session, if needed. This time is meant to answer any additional questions that have come up as you begin exploring your website. We will also go over tips shared in the previous training.
  • Monthly support time – Do you have edits that go beyond your level of expertise? No worries! Your hosting package includes monthly support time (one to three hours, depending on the specific package), so you can always email or call our studio, and our team will make the updates for you.
  • Learning WordPress resources – Even with the intuitiveness of WordPress, it can still be a lot to learn. We are proud to be a resource hub for learning to use and edit your WordPress website. Check out any of our in-depth blogs to learn more. Before long, you will feel like a WordPress expert!

 

Continuing Education

Technology is constantly changing, so what you learned right after the launch of your web design may not be applicable now. Our team stays on top of various advancements and updates, so we can better serve and teach you. We believe learning to navigate your website is not a one-and-done process, so we are continually learning and developing our knowledge of CMSs to support our clients.
